Finding a suitable meeting place for “Kunst, Wein und Sein | Art, Wine and Lifestyle” is not easy. Therefore, we are looking for:

A house suitable for an artist’s studio in a historic or listed building or property in the Lucerne Seetal.

We are looking for an inspiring place to make Franz Elmiger’s artistic work accessible to the public and to deepen it.

Ideally, we are looking for a studio in a historic or listed property or a suitable plot of land in the picturesque Lucerne Seetal. The property should be spacious enough to display the artistic works and materials and offer an inspiring environment with the passion “In the footsteps of Franz Elmiger”.

Signatures

This small selection of signatures provides an overview of Franz Elmiger’s artwork labels from 1899 to 1920.

He often signed his works with his full last name, but never with his first name. He always added the initial “F” in conjunction with his last name.

For smaller works, he preferred the ligature of his initials in various forms. For larger paintings, he almost exclusively used his initial and full last name, often in combination with a year. The signatures are usually located at the bottom edge of the painting, either in the right or left corner.

Many of his works from 1925 onwards are unsigned.
